Taste of Chamblee scheduled for Oct. 18; DDA approves use of downtown lots

Ashley, representing city community engagement staff, told the Downtown Development Authority the community is planning Taste of Chamblee for Oct. 18 and requested use of DDA lots for vendor parking, restroom location and vendor sites. The sites listed for event use were 2161 Urbandale (vendor parking), 5442 Peachtree Road (vintage parking lot for vendors/restrooms) and 3519 Broad Street (parking next to Chamblee Tap And Market). "So our community engagement department is planning for Taste of Chamblee on October 18, and they're planning to use some DDA lots," Ashley said.
The board approved the request unanimously and asked staff to notify the affected businesses and coordinate with the vintage and other route participants. The motion was framed as consistent with prior years' event approvals and was presented as routine event authorization rather than new policy.
