Student voter clubs report registrations, plan forums and outreach ahead of busy election year

Representatives from March to the Polls and student leaders described nonpartisan student voter empowerment work at Crowley ISD campuses, reporting that clubs registered about 100 students this year and nearly 600 students in total since the program began partnership with the district in 2023.
"This year alone, our student voter empowerment clubs have helped register a 100 students," March to the Polls representative Jess Lugo said as she introduced students who spoke on recent activities including phone banks, voter guides, town halls and student-run education forums. Student leaders said clubs hosted a forum on election security and distributed voter guides to community members.
Student speakers said they plan field trips to the Tarrant County commissioners' court and to Austin, and will continue registration drives at senior events. Trustees asked whether the clubs partner with deputy registrars; students said March to the Polls supplies registrars and that campus sponsors staff booths at events.
Trustees praised the nonpartisan nature of the clubs and encouraged the students to expand outreach to younger grade levels and local community institutions.
