He said the City Attorney recommended an extra one‑hour legal review through the South Dakota Public Assurance Alliance and that an employment law expert from Boyce law firm had reviewed the policy and recommended a small change. “The policy and procedure committee... emailed their comfort level moving forward,” Steve said.
A motion to adopt the policy into the employee handbook was moved and seconded; the council approved the change by voice vote. Council members asked only clarifying questions about remote access and secure connections; staff clarified that remote access requires secure remote login to city software.
