TRI Committee awards $34,521.13 in entitlement funding each to Charlestown and Brillion

At a selection meeting Oct. 27, 2025, the Town Road Improvement (TRI) Committee voted to allocate the agreed-upon entitlement funding between two townships: the Town of Charlestown and the Town of Brillion. Committee member Joe Kuhn moved the award and Mark Wunrow seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The Charlestown award covers the Hickory Hills Road pulverize-and-pave project and the Brillion award covers the Schmidt Road culvert and pavement replacement. Each township will receive $34,521.13. Minutes record that projects funded through the 2026'2027 TRI cycle will have a sunset date of June 30, 2031.
Committee Chair Kevin Fischer presided over the vote; County Highway Commissioner Chad Scheinoha and Highway Office Coordinator Lexie Lau attended the meeting. The decision followed an earlier determination to split entitlement funding between the two townships and represents the formal adoption of that split.
