The Dell Rapids City Council selected Chuck Jones as Council President and Denise Cavigelli as Vice President during nominations at the May 4 meeting. Councilmembers nominated and voted by voice; leadership positions were confirmed without recorded opposition.
City Administrator Steve urged continuity for committee membership and recommended reappointing current members unless the council wanted to reshuffle assignments. "I would recommend, you leave, reappoint the committees with the people that they have on them now," he said. The council then approved the Finance & Utilities, Policy & Procedures, Riverside and Parks committee rosters as presented, and confirmed liaisons including the Carnegie Library and Chamber of Commerce. The council also designated the Dell City Journal as the official newspaper and confirmed the official depositories.
