Friendship ISD honors more than 160 AP Scholars; coordinator cites 33% growth

The Friendship ISD Board recognized more than 160 Advanced Placement Scholars at the meeting, with advanced academics coordinator Nicholas Copeland thanking staff and naming students individually. "Last year, we had 123 students... we increased that by 33%. So we have over a 160 students that were able to achieve this," Copeland said as he introduced the scholars.
Copeland described the achievement standards for the awards and said many recognized students earned college credit by scoring 3 or higher on multiple AP exams. The board and attendees posed for group photos and applauded the students as individual names were called. Directors and staff emphasized teacher support and district academic resources in remarks following the recognition.
