Liquor sales dip in April and YTD; spirits profits largely steady, profit transfer slightly down

Director Louis Luchini presented detailed April 2026 and year-to-date sales and financial figures to the Commission. April shipping days were 22 (equal to last year); cases sold were 95,733 vs. 98,541 last year, a decline of 2,808 cases (-2.85%). April dollar sales were $16,655,991 vs. $17,121,535 last year, down $465,544 (-2.72%).
Year-to-date figures through April showed 1,119,342 cases sold vs. 1,158,943 last year, a decline of 39,601 cases (-3.42%), and dollar sales YTD of $193,490,969 vs. $201,973,626 last year, down $8,482,656 (-4.20%). Luchini also reported spirits operating profits of $4,711,675 for FY2026 vs. $4,701,071 for FY2025 (up 0.23%) and a spirits profit transfer of $3,629,537 vs. $3,698,773 last year (down 1.87%).
Acting Deputy Director Tracy Willett supplemented the financial overview with county-level comparisons and a Top 25 agents list highlighting three-month case sales increases. Commissioners did not take separate action on the financial report; it was entered into the record for budget-to-actual tracking and operational planning.
