Spirits sales fell in May; year‑to‑date cases and dollars remain below last year

Director Louis Luchini presented the bureau's May 2026 sales report, which showed 108,480 cases sold in May 2026 compared with 116,401 in May 2025, a decline of 7,921 cases (−6.8%). Dollar sales for May were $18,798,542 versus $20,267,879 the prior year, a decline of $1,469,337 (−7.25%).
Year‑to‑date figures through May showed cases sold of 1,227,823 versus 1,275,344 last year (down 47,521 cases or −3.73%) and YTD dollar sales of $212,289,511 versus $222,241,505 (down $9,951,993 or −4.48%). Luchini also summarized spirits operating profits ($4,828,007 FY26 vs. $5,030,772 FY25) and the spirits profit transfer ($4,096,799 FY26 vs. $3,951,806 FY25).
