Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors approves eight initial LADC applications

The Board of Alcohol & Drug Counselors on Jan. 16, 2026, approved eight initial applications for Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC). Laurence Gross moved to approve multiple applications, and Darlene Panzino seconded; each approval passed by a 3-0 vote.
Approvals included Malcolm McCollor, Eugene McKeever, Aaron Rondeau, Jonathan Godsoe, Samuel Robinson, Courtney Meade, Amanda O’Brien and Elizabeth Schwarz. For several applicants the minutes record the board’s finding that “the applicant has shown they are sufficiently rehabilitated to warrant the public trust.” Elizabeth Schwarz’s application was approved expressly as meeting the requirements of 32 M.R.S. §6214E(2)(B)(2). Votes on the listed approvals were recorded as 3 in favor.
Board members made motions and votes on each applicant during the application review portion of the agenda; where staff or statute required clarification the board either approved or directed follow-up as noted in the minutes. The meeting proceeded to other agenda items after the approvals.
