Kingsford council authorizes bid for new sewer main to open lots for residential development

The Kingsford City Council voted to authorize bidding a new sewer main in the alley between the 300 block of Doraland Street and Roseland Street so the city‑owned lots on the west side of Doraland can be developed for housing.

The council approved sending the project out to bid in one or two phases with construction to occur after July 1, 2026 and funding to be included in the FY 2026/2027 budget (motion by Flaminio; seconded by Dixon‑Miller). The motion passed unanimously.
