Kingsford plans park repairs, $1,700 buoy order and a floating dock to be budgeted for 2026–27

Kingsford’s DPW told the Citizens Advisory Committee that the city has ordered replacement buoys for Cowboy Lake’s swimming area at a cost of $1,700.00 and will address a protruding concrete circle at the site. The committee was also told that new crosswalks will be installed on Breitung Avenue at both Lodal Park entrances and that tires will be removed from parks where present.
On Menominee River Park, staff confirmed routine maintenance will continue and that a floating dock — not included in the current budget — is planned to be added to the upcoming budget cycle beginning July 1, 2026. The committee discussed removing an old rusted gate in the Menominee River Park parking area and the potential to repurpose that area for athletic fields if needed.
