Kingsford committee tasked to propose three uses for new Lodal Park parcel

The Kingsford Citizens Advisory/Parks Decorations Committee was directed by the city council to develop the city’s “best three” alternative uses for a parcel added to Lodal Park and to identify pros and cons for each option. Michael Stelmaszek, committee secretary, told members the council expects the committee to produce concrete proposals for review by fall 2026.
Meeting minutes record that the DPW has been tasked with site preparation on seven acres and that a recurring concern from residents is insufficient parking at Lodal Park. The committee discussed parking constraints and suggested multi-use designs that could serve different seasons; Baldinelli explicitly recommended considering facilities with year-round utility.
