Applicant Judith Field said the unit is needed “for my brother who’s disabled” and described his neurological disorder and limited future mobility. No members of the public came forward to oppose the request. A board member moved to approve and the motion passed without objection. The special-exception approval is subject to the normal permitting and inspection processes, and any appeal may be taken to the Board of County Commissioners within 15 business days.
The board followed the usual procedure: staff presentation, applicant statement, and an opportunity for public comment. The board noted the residence is in an R1M zoning district and will continue as a recommendation to the county’s permitting processes for final building approvals.
