President Philip Odom and Kim Chamberlin of Upland Design presented the early design phase for Tennessee Technological University's Advanced Construction and Manufacturing Engineering Building. Chamberlin described a two-building project on the northwest corner of Stadium Drive and Wings Up Way, the demolition and incorporation of the Foundry Building and Lewis Hall, machine-shop consolidation, a foundry program and a strong wall for structural testing. Chamberlin said the design keeps with campus Georgian architecture while introducing contemporary, technology-forward spaces.
Chamberlin reported a budget target "a little over, dollars 72,000,000" and said the project is in budget and on schedule, with an anticipated groundbreaking in early spring 2026. The commission moved and unanimously approved the early design phase.
