Commission schedules NationsHearing review after member complaints; Aetna asked for issues in advance

Management Member Shonna Poulin-Gutierrez said NationsHearing will attend the May State Employee Health Commission meeting to respond to questions received by staff and the co-chairs. Poulin-Gutierrez said she will assemble the member communications describing the reported issues, provide acknowledgments to members who registered complaints so they know the issues are being investigated, compile an overview of how NationsHearing functions in the plan design, and provide utilization numbers. Charles Luce of the Office of Employee Health, Wellness and Workers’ Compensation said providing reasons behind the shift to NationsHearing may help members understand the change. Aetna asked whether the documented challenges could be shared in advance of the May meeting; Poulin-Gutierrez agreed to assemble those items for Aetna.
