Staff member (S2) told trustees the Braeburn Building at 25100 Euclid Avenue (approximately 45,000 sq ft) has been vacant and blighted for years and carries a judgment lien of a little more than $289,000 assessed by Euclid Municipal Court. Staff are working with the property owner, the Cuyahoga Land Bank and the law department to explore donating the property to the land bank rather than pursuing the judgment lien and then issuing an RFP for redevelopment.
"This property is approximately 45,000 square feet ... It has a judgment lien of a little more than $289,000 to the city assessed by the Euclid Municipal Court," S2 said. Staff said the donation pathway would let the land bank take title and the CIC would then solicit proposals for redevelopment, though the exact timing and terms were not yet determined.
Trustees did not take a formal vote on direction; staff said they will continue to evaluate options and return with recommendations or an RFP when ready.
