District schedules 'Mind Over Medals' mental health summit Feb. 13 for high-performing students

Crowley ISD trustees heard a presentation on the district's 'Mind Over Medals' mental health summit, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at North Crowley High School, designed to support mental wellness among 9th–12th grade high performers, including athletes, fine arts performers and student leaders.
Presenter Trina Lane said the summit will include breakout sessions for students, parents and staff, and will feature a closeout keynote by former North Crowley graduate and NFL draft pick Tyler Smith. Lane said the district will provide shuttles and targeted communications to ensure access and invited trustees and parents to participate.
Trustee Shekinah Watkins will open the event, and the district plans faculty and coach sessions alongside student panels and university partner presentations to promote resilience, balance and mental-health resources.
