Crowley ISD honors campuses with 16 TEA distinctions and recognizes an educational interpreter with Heartbeat award

The board opened its meeting with recognitions for campus and staff achievements. Christopher Hill presented the district’s campuses that earned Texas Education Agency distinction designations this year — 16 distinctions across eight campuses — noting categories such as academic achievement in social studies, reading/language arts, science and mathematics, academic growth, and closing achievement gaps. He named campuses including North Crowley High School, Crowley Montessori Academy, Dallas Park Elementary, David L. Walker Elementary, Oakmont Elementary, Sydney H. Pointer Elementary, SH Crowley Elementary and Sue Crouch Elementary.
Following the distinctions presentation, the board surprised Kathy Lorenz with the Heartbeat award for her work as an educational interpreter for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Several students and staff described her consistent presence at games, practices and in classrooms, and the district highlighted interpreter staffing and sign-language classes offered to the community.
Trustees echoed appreciation for staff and student work and for community partners such as the Chisholm Trail Education Foundation, which donated a book-dispensing vending machine for Baylor Elementary.
Administrators framed these recognitions as part of the district’s Vision 2030 focus and celebrated staff and student contributions to academic excellence and inclusive programming.
