Crowley ISD reports enrollment growth and bond-project progress; indoor track available in phases

District staff updated the board on enrollment trends, the status of Bond 2023 projects, and construction schedules tied to student growth.

Presenters showed a demographic heat map and said Crowley ISD remained a destination district, reporting about 17,011 students at last year’s snapshot and roughly 17,072 students this month with a PIMS/registration projection of continued growth. Chief Financial Officer Mr. Fisher reminded trustees the bond package approved by voters authorized $1.04 billion; administration reported approximately $950 million has been sold in three tranches ($450M, $250M, $250M) and emphasized no tax-rate increase was required for the bond work.

Project leads reviewed site plans, bid-package sequencing, and specific campus work: interactive displays (bid package 12) will be presented with a GMP at the October meeting; North Crowley additions include a three-story academic wing and cafeteria expansion; the new CCA building and a large indoor multipurpose facility are underway. Projected dates were clarified: the outdoor track and field and bleacher infrastructure is expected to be available by October 2026, while the indoor facility completion is projected for April 2027.

Trustees asked for and received clarifications about schedule typos and enrollment counting: registration staff said as of Sept. 16 the district’s enrollment was about 17,090 with pending documentation for some students, and PEIMS/snapshot reporting will finalize the official count at the last day of October.

Administration said construction phasing aims to minimize student disruption and that site circulation, landscape, and parking elements were intentionally designed for each project. Trustees thanked project staff for visible progress across campuses and asked for continued updates to ensure on-time delivery.
