Counseling Board approves dismissal, orders assessment in separate misconduct matter and recognizes Ohio endorsement

The Board dismissed complaint 2025-COU-20686 for lack of evidence (motion by Ellen Grunblatt; seconded by Lisa-Ann Henry; vote: 3 in favor, 2 recused). For complaint 2025-COU-21002 the Board set the matter for an adjudicatory hearing and offered a consent agreement that included a reprimand and surrender of license, citing Board rules Chapter 8-A 2(1)(A) (Client Relationship). The Board amended the motion to require a psychological or neuropsychological assessment reviewed by the Board prior to any reinstatement, and authorized the Vice Chair to sign the consent agreement; amended motion vote: 5 in favor, 1 abstention (Holly Cavna).
The Board also tabled complaint 2026-COU-21199 until Chair Jennifer King (MFT) could be present for discussion (motion by Lisa-Ann Henry; seconded by Ellen Grunblatt; vote: 4 in favor, 1 abstention, 1 recusal). The Board voted to open a complaint under the reporting-notification item (motion by Holly Cavna; seconded by Lisa-Ann Henry; vote: 6 in favor).
Other business included approvals of supervision and renewals, a Board Manager report about staffing and complaint-process changes, and a motion to consider Ohio as having license equivalency for the Maine LCPC; the Ohio motion passed 6 in favor.
