Board preliminarily denies one endorsement application, approves another and tables a third

The Counseling Professionals, Board of Licensure took three actions on initial applications at its March 23 meeting. On a motion by Board Chair Jennifer King, seconded by Ellen Grunblatt, the board preliminarily denied Janet McCutchen’s endorsement application because the license type was not comparable to Maine’s LCPC requirements; the board offered McCutchen the option to withdraw the application within 30 days instead of receiving a denial. The motion passed 5-0.
The board then approved Caitlin Aiona Smith’s supervised experience and authorized issuance of a license (motion by Jennifer King; seconded by Joanne Grant; vote 5-0). The board also tabled Felicia Moholland’s application and requested additional course information and clearer course descriptions for ADT-655 Development of Personality II, ADT-688 Family Art Therapy, and ADT-641 Creative Arts Therapy I; that motion likewise passed 5-0.
