Board approves several states as comparable for MFT licensure by endorsement

The board approved CT, FL, MA, MN, NH, PA and TX as comparable for MFT licensure by endorsement under 10 M.R.S. § 8003-H and asked staff to research remaining states; vote was 7–0.
On Nov. 24 the Counseling Professionals, Board of Licensure approved a set of states it finds comparable to Maine for Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) licensure by endorsement.
The motion, made by Holly Cavna and seconded by Lisa-Ann Henry, listed Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Texas as comparable. The vote was unanimous, 7–0. The board directed staff to research other states and return with findings at a later meeting.
The action references 10 M.R.S. § 8003-H as the statutory rubric for endorsement comparability. The board did not adopt additional rulemaking at this meeting; this action records which states will be treated as comparable in endorsement reviews.
