Board approves multiple pharmacy company initial and renewal licenses; some members recuse

The Maine Board of Pharmacy moved to approve a slate of initial company pharmacy applications and processed a long list of renewal applications during its May 7 meeting.
Timothy McCormack made a motion to approve all initial company applications after the Board confirmed it had reviewed application materials; the motion carried with the members present recorded as in favor. Over subsequent agenda items the Board approved renewal applications for numerous entities including Costco Wholesale Corporation, McKesson Medical-Surgical Inc., Pillpack (multiple entries), Quva Pharma Inc., SCA Pharmaceuticals, Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy, Zoetis US LLC and others. Several motions recorded recusals: McCormack recused on votes related to Optum entities, and Bradley Hamilton recused on the Village Fertility Pharmacy renewal.
The approvals were processed as motions and recorded individually for many vendors; Board staff will update licensing records and inform companies of the renewal outcomes.
