During the System Advancement Committee report, Chair Jane McDermott presented recommended legislative policy positions for the 2026 session and introduced a proposed communications contract with Finest Hour Communications to provide website, social media and external communications support to RUSO. The board voted to approve the policy positions and to enter a contract with Finest Hour Communications using current RUSO budget resources.
The board also adopted a resolution supporting Northwestern Oklahoma State University's application for opioid abatement grant funding; the motion to adopt the resolution was moved by Regent McDermott and seconded by Regent Kupiec and approved unanimously. Regent McDermott noted that the current budget can support the communications contract without additional appropriations.
