The Board authorized the University of Central Oklahoma to award contracts not to exceed $1.1 million to Timberlake Construction and other vendors for the major renovation and restoration of the Y Chapel of Song. The minutes note the Y Chapel was built in 1949, is approximately 2,000 square feet, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Regent Amy Anne Ford presented the facilities request and the motion was seconded by Regent Thomas Kupiec; the motion was approved unanimously. The board materials list Section 13 Funds and New College Funds as the revenue sources for the project.
The meeting also recorded informational UCO contract awards including a $57,810 contract to Lippert Brothers, Inc. for a ventilation system in the Art & Design ceramics lab (funded by foundation funds and private donations) and a $49,143 contract to Lippert Brothers for two outdoor pickleball courts (funded by the mandatory facility fee).
