RUSO ratifies Northeastern State University purchase, authorizes storm‑sewer and emergency repairs

The Board of Regents ratified an emergency approval for Northeastern State University to purchase property located at the southeast corner of N. Muskogee Ave. and Going Snake St. (Lot 13, Block 39, City of Tahlequah) for the appraised value of $395,000 plus applicable closing costs.
Regent Amy Anne Ford moved the motion to ratify the property purchase; Regent Lake Carpenter seconded and the motion was approved unanimously. The minutes state the purchase price is supported by a fair‑market appraisal and funding will come from university reserves.
Separately, the board authorized NSU to proceed with a storm sewer and drainage design near the center of campus in an amount not to exceed $175,000 (funded by an infrastructure fee) and approved emergency repairs to the Broken Arrow Administration Building and Annex in an amount not to exceed $200,000 following a broken fire‑suppression line during a winter weather event on Jan. 25, 2026. Both motions were moved by Regent Ford, seconded by Regents Carpenter and McKenzie in the minutes, and were approved unanimously.
