Council adopted Ordinance 2026‑09 on March 3 authorizing the Safety & Service Director to purchase an "X‑Treme Vac by ODB model LCT600" from Best Equipment Co. as an emergency measure. Finance Chair Andy Bronner had explained that, if passed, the expenditure would not exceed $80,000 and would be charged to Capital Improvement Fund 4340.
Council moved, suspended the requirement for a second and third reading by a 7‑0 roll‑call vote, and then adopted the ordinance by a 7‑0 vote. The administration had earlier announced that Public Works will only pick up bagged leaves and supported acquisition of the new leaf‑vac to assist with city maintenance operations.
