Council approves loan applications and bidding for SSO reduction projects
Summary
Council adopted ordinances authorizing Water Pollution Control Loan Fund applications and to advertise and award contracts for the 2025 SSO Reduction Project, and moved design-services ordinance to second reading.
On Jan. 20 Wadsworth City Council adopted Ordinance No. 26-013 to apply for and accept Water Pollution Control Loan Fund agreements for planning, design and/or construction of the 2025 Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Reduction Project and to designate a dedicated repayment source for the loans. Council also adopted Ordinance No. 26-014 authorizing advertisement for bids and contract awards for the same SSO project. Ordinance No. 26-015, authorizing professional engineering services for design of the 2026 SSO reduction project, was moved to second reading.
The ordinances were sponsored and recommended by the Public Service Committee and were adopted or advanced by unanimous roll-call votes after suspension of three-reading rules where applicable. The adopted measures permit the Director of Public Service to proceed with loan applications and the procurement process for construction and design services.
