Mayor introduced the presentation and Rotary Club members read short biographies of the honorees, Staff Sgt. Christopher Keyshawn Kenny and Airman 1st Class Kyla (Kyla) Witherspoon Smith. Malone accepted a two‑star banner and a certificate shared by the council and Rotary Club.
"I am so godly proud of my grandchildren," Malone said, adding that one grandson had just returned from deployment. Council and Rotary leaders joined Malone for photographs following remarks and encouraged residents with family members in the armed services to contact the Rotary to request recognition.
The presentation was ceremonial; no council action was taken.
