Reading City Council and Mayor Bo Bemmes presented a proclamation honoring Reading Community City Schools’ Mock Trial Program and the achievements of two Reading High School teams. The proclamation lists the program’s history and competitive record, including multiple state and regional qualifiers, two state final-four appearances, and numerous invitational championships; it also names team members for Team 1 and Team 2.
Council members praised the students' commitment. Council Member Scott Thamann said, "...the mock trial kids work every bit as hard as any athlete we have in the school," noting their year-round time commitment and volunteer work at competitions. The proclamation and remarks underscored the program's role in building speaking, analytical and leadership skills for students.
