FRENSHIP ISD board declines to adopt Senate Bill 11 prayer‑period resolution

"A resolution under Senate Bill 11 is unnecessary and would add bureaucratic requirements to rights students already possess," Scott Sims said, arguing that adopting the resolution could impose additional parental permission requirements. The board accepted the administrations recommendation not to adopt the policy after a motion and second; chair put the question and the motion carried without recorded roll call.
The board did not take additional action to change handbook practices; trustees discussed that daily pledges and a moment of silence already occur on campuses as part of routine practice.
