FRENSHIP ISD trustees honor dozens of students for state and national competitions

FRENSHIP ISD trustees and staff used much of the meeting to recognize student achievements across academic, athletic and career‑technical programs. Staff highlighted a Terra Vista Middle School student who won the Lubbock regional spelling bee and will compete at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington; teams and individuals from DECA, SkillsUSA, powerlifting, chess, band, color guard and choir received recognitions for state and national placements.
Tiffany Taylor (speaker 5), who introduced the recognition portion of the meeting, said the district was proud of students’ results across fine arts, athletics and academics. "We are so proud to celebrate seeing…students that we get to recognize," she said. Individual coaches and sponsors gave short remarks, including Terra Vista principal Eric Eugenis on the spelling‑bee qualifier and choir director Morgan Spurgeon on the TMEA invitation for Heritage Middle School. Many staff noted that final competition results for some events were still pending or 'not specified' at the time of the meeting.
