FRENSHIP ISD students honored as Texas All‑State musicians

The Frenship ISD Board of Trustees on Tuesday recognized seven students named to the Texas Music Educators Association All‑State ensembles and heard brief remarks from directors and family members.
"It's really my distinct honor to get to introduce both," Amy Moss, Friendship High School choir director, told the board as she introduced students who earned All‑State honors. Administration noted that Friendship had four students from Friendship High School and three from Friendship Memorial High School earn the distinction, which represents only a small percentage of initial auditionees statewide. Moss praised studentswork over a six‑month audition process and their perseverance.
Scott Cutter, Friendship High School band director, introduced the districts All‑State band members and thanked the board and administration for support. He noted the statewide scale of selection—many thousands of students auditioned statewide with fewer than 1,900 chosen for All‑State ensembles—and highlighted studentsupcoming opportunities, including a March performance with the Lubbock Youth Orchestra. The board paused for photos and moved on to the next agenda item.
