City Manager used the May 11 meeting to remind council and attendees of upcoming events. He said the Memorial Day celebration is scheduled for May 25 at 10 a.m., the May Day parade is May 23 and staff need RSVP counts for golf-cart staging, and the first Citizens Academy session will begin June 2 (6–8 p.m.) with a focus on how the governing body and city finance work.
"That first session is going to cover the governing the governing body itself and some finance topics," the city manager said, and he invited council members to attend. The municipal clerk asked council members to confirm parade participation by Wednesday to finalize logistics.
