Organizers of free RAM clinic ask Crestview for volunteers and parking help

Ed Mitchell, speaking during public comment, asked the council and community to provide volunteer support for an upcoming Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinic that officials expect will serve thousands. "We're 67 days and 5 hours away ... we need kitchen service or people who want to work in the kitchen ... we need someone maybe a church group or whatever to volunteer ..." Mitchell said, outlining needs for daytime and nighttime parking marshals and volunteers to guide visitors.
Mitchell said recent clinics delivered more than 160 eye exams and glasses in a single session and stressed that the primary constraint is provider availability. He directed volunteers to ramusa.org to register and asked the council and local organizations to help recruit school leadership volunteers for youth-service hours.
