Council proclaims May as National Public Works Week, recognizes certified supervisors

At the May 11 Crestview City Council meeting, Councilman Brandon Frost read a proclamation declaring the observance of National Public Works Week and encouraged residents to recognize the contributions of public-works professionals. The proclamation described public works’ role in maintaining transportation, water, wastewater and other essential services.
Carlos, a city public-works representative, accepted the proclamation and told the council that four of the department’s supervisors received certified public-works professional management certificates this year, noting the department’s strength in the region. "We have four of our supervisors who received their certified public works professional management certificates this year," Carlos said.
Council members and staff praised the public-works employees for their service and certifications, and officials encouraged residents to note the role that public-works staff play in infrastructure and daily life.
