The council approved an employment agreement for the recently appointed city clerk during the Feb. 23 meeting. The city attorney reported drafting the agreement with input from the clerk and staff, modernizing terms and including metrics on public‑records handling and Sunshine Law compliance. The city attorney said, "I drafted this agreement after [the] meeting when Miss Peacock was appointed as city clerk" and added the document reflects her input.
Councilman Frost moved the agreement, Councilman Hayes seconded, and the motion carried 4–0 with one absence. No council member raised questions during the public meeting. The action was recorded on the agenda as item 10.1 and will be implemented in accordance with the city's personnel processes.
