GovState trustees approve multiple union MOUs, strategic framework and tenure upon hire

At the Aug. 18 meeting, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a consent agenda that bundled multiple personnel- and policy-related items. Resolutions approved on the consent agenda included memoranda of understanding with University Professionals of Illinois, Local #4100; Operating Engineers, AFL-CIO, Local #399; Teamsters Local 743 (clerical and maintenance laborers); and Service Employees International Union Local No. 73, and the Board approved the Institutional Strategic Framework titled "Better Together 2030." Trustee Judith L. Mitchell moved to approve the consent agenda and Trustee Frances Pao-Han Kao seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The consent package also included approval of tenure upon hire for Christine Watt, PhD, OTR/L. Resolution 26-01 (the election of officers) was removed from the consent agenda and voted on separately via secret ballot. The minutes record no public comment on the consent items and no amendments to the proposals presented.
