Frenship ISD details final-year progress on 2021 strategic plan; next year set for new plan development

Frenship ISD presented a final-year update on its 2021 strategic plan, detailing progress in four result areas and outlining steps for a planning year to follow.
"We are in really the final year of its implementation," Keith Patrick said, reviewing accomplishments across technology competencies, supervisory professional development, student-family collaboration on learning goals, and career awareness programs. Patrick said the district adopted a technology resource last year that includes keyboarding and digital citizenship content and that staff are customizing the material to reflect local priorities.
Patrick said the district is ensuring tools meet Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requirements and that technology training has been built for lab managers, media specialists and teachers with tracking to monitor use. He described new supervisor-focused professional development aimed at improving employee conversations and retention, and said work on transition supports (notably fifth-to-sixth-grade and 11th-to-12th-grade transition planning) produced parent-facing materials now posted on the district website.
On career awareness, Patrick said district teams are aligning interest inventories and the state-provided My Texas Future resource across grade levels to create consistent experiences for students. He closed by noting the plan's teams will soon begin planning for the district's next multi-year strategic plan.
