Frenship High student athletic trainers win region, advance to state

Frenship High School’s student athletic trainers swept the regional sports medicine competition and will compete at state this spring, district staff told the board.
"This crew right here is the backbone, Frenship Athletics," said Dustin Rush, the head athletic trainer, thanking the board and family supporters. Rush noted that many students balance jobs and other programs in addition to academics and athletics, and that several qualified for academic all-state honors through the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association.
Rush named state qualifiers and all-state honorees, and emphasized the program’s focus on both practical skills (taping, muscle identification) and classroom achievement. Board members applauded and posed for group photos following the recognition.
