Frenship ISD strategic‑plan update outlines teams, technology goals and an introductory AI course

Keith Patrick delivered the first strategic‑plan update for the school year, walking the board through year‑specific results teams and the district’s approach to technology competencies, professional development and career pathways. He said the update is the final scheduled year for the current plan and that staff are already collecting data through focus groups and principal surveys to identify gaps and next steps.

"This is our 1st strategic plan update for the school year," Keith Patrick told the board. He highlighted work by task leaders on technology and professional development, noted the adoption of learning.com as a district resource, and described ongoing focus groups with teachers and media specialists to shape delivery and timing of those competencies.

Patrick said one team is working to align career exploration from elementary awareness through middle‑school exploration to high‑school preparation, with CTE staff and principals involved in scheduling and program alignment. He also said the district plans to introduce a foundations‑of‑AI course next fall as an early, hands‑on exposure for students, noting that the effort will begin with basic concepts and teacher preparation rather than advanced AI instruction.

Board members praised the implementation focus and encouraged continued emphasis on measurable results and community feedback. The presentation concluded without formal board action; staff will continue focus groups and data collection during the year.
