Friendship Foundation reports more teacher grants and scholarships, net golf‑tournament profit tops $100,000

"Last year we gave out more than $76,000 in teacher grants. That was 50 grants, that impacted more than 86 teachers across 15 campuses," Taylor said. She later said that a September distribution exceeded $80,000 (57 grants that touched more than 90 teachers across all 16 campuses) and that the foundation awarded 65 character scholarships in a single year—both figures the foundation highlighted as growth from prior years.
Taylor described fundraising innovations: a themed evening event and items auctioned by student groups produced notable receipts—two floral arrangements fetched nearly $1,000 and an Ad Kids fire pit package brought $5,500. The foundation also said the golf tournament produced the largest net profit in its history, topping $100,000, and that donor engagement (including corporate sponsors) helps sustain teacher grants and scholarships.
Board members asked a few clarifying questions and thanked foundation staff for community engagement; no board action was requested or taken on the report.
