County holds Jan. 16 workshop with department heads; airport and probation services discussed

A workshop on Jan. 16, 2025, brought county commissioners together with department heads and elected officials to review departmental roles and operational priorities. Attendees included Health Department Director Erinn Quinn, Public Works leadership, IT and fiscal managers, jail and court administrators, and other department heads.
Judges Mary Joe Hanson and (referenced) Judge Baker discussed probation services; elected officials and department heads provided suggestions for future workshop topics. Workshop participants also discussed FAA correspondence regarding Dallesport and matters related to the Columbia Gorge Regional Airport and its Business Park Phase 2 improvements, which the Board had earlier set for a Feb. 11, 2025 bid opening.
The workshop concluded with the Board adjourning at 3:50 PM after an exchange of departmental priorities and scheduling follow‑up items. Staff will carry forward the suggested topics and the airport coordination items for future agendas.
