"I make a motion that we accept the the budget for the 2526, the actual revised budget," Committee member (S3) moved; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Council also approved the proposed 2026–27 budget and discussed options to raise water hookup fees or modestly increase rates to generate additional revenue. Staff estimated that raising rates by $10 per hookup could change revenues on the order discussed in the meeting and noted limits on selling new hookups where water infrastructure is constrained.
The council asked staff to defer certain disputed payments until audit and legal questions are resolved and to bring back clear budget entries once the auditor’s corrections and any legal findings are complete. The revised budget and the proposed next-year budget were approved as presented.
