The motion was seconded and passed by voice vote, with the council agreeing the parks department would handle parade and fireworks logistics.
Council members discussed the likely small amount the town would receive under the county’s population-based distribution and suggested folding those funds into the parks’ existing parade and fireworks budget rather than creating a separate spending account.
