The Knox County Board voted unanimously Dec. 22 to appoint Marissa Meyer to the Zoning Board of Appeals to fill the vacancy left by Harry Fleshier. Member Joshua Kramer said Meyer introduced herself at committee and described her as a lifelong Galesburg resident and local realtor; her biography was placed in the board packet.
Assessor Sonia Hochstetler noted Meyer will finish out Fleshier’s term, and Chair Jared Hawkinson confirmed Meyer will serve until the statute specifies otherwise. The board carried the motion 14–0.
