The Utah Office of Tourism (UOT) presented details of a two-day tourism business-development workshop that begins tomorrow in Kanab. Camille, a UOT representative, said the event "starts tomorrow, ends Thursday at 2PM," and described six breakout tracks—including agritourism, film and culture—aimed at helping local businesses build visitor-ready products.
Camille told the council the workshop is free to participants because it is subsidized by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and state operations money, and that UOT will complete its final ARPA reports next month. She estimated about 290 registrants, with roughly 275 expected at lunch sessions and a maximum dinner capacity of 250, and said UOT is planning year-two changes based on participant feedback. Jeanette (the council’s UOT contact) framed UOT as a resource for local tourism partners and encouraged board members to connect local businesses to the program.
