The chair summarized the group’s hesitation: the commission generally had no major objection to the applicant’s specific proposal but wanted to avoid unintended citywide consequences. "We're a little gun shy with changing code text ... it has less to do with your car wash and more to do with unintended consequences," the chair said. Commissioners discussed practical spacing (mention of a 1,000-foot spacing limit was floated) and agreed staff could flag these points for council consideration when the item is forwarded.
