County staff report insurance rollout, hospital review and planning discussions

At the Feb. 10 Mason County meeting, Jacob Janssen of Snedeker Risk Management told the board that the county’s new Hope Trust insurance is operating smoothly and there are no immediate issues. Gabriel Baker reported for Zoning that three resolutions would appear later in the meeting.
Dorothy Kreiling, reporting for Emergency Services, said the Health Department has flu shots available, Mason District Hospital is going through a five-year review, and grain bin training will continue. Andrea Thomson, reporting for Planning, said the committee met earlier that morning to discuss the Ameresco plan for the Farm Bureau building (deciding additional planning is needed), concerns about relocating the State’s Attorney, and the Alco building (the committee does not want board involvement) and suggested reaching out to Bill Blessman about the five-year Waste Management plan.
