Public Works reports staffing change, disposal services draft and authorizes road-vacation hearing

Public Works Director Dave Orvis and County Engineer James Wege told the Board a Public Works mechanic resigned effective Jan. 12, 2026. They presented a draft disposal services agreement with Waste Management for the Board to review before a public hearing scheduled for Feb. 17, 2026.
The Board approved out-of-state travel for Engineer James Wege and another employee for April (requesters asked to provide a formal memo), and authorized the Chairman to sign an order for hearing and a request for an engineer report regarding a proposed vacation of the alignment of Washington Street, Lincoln Street, and the north alley. The order for hearing was entered into Book AA-2026.
